Fall 2008 Shuttle Schedule
Please Note: the shuttle schedule has been extended until Sept. 11
Thanks to the support of San Diego voters, construction projects at the east entrance to Mesa College are well underway. The realigned entrance to Mesa College and the new Parking Structure and Police Substation are slated for completion in spring, and will provide more than 1,000 new parking spaces. The new $20 million, three-story Allied Health Building will be complete next fall.
With construction in full swing, those entering the campus off of Mesa College Drive can expect to experience delays, especially in the first few weeks of class. To alleviate the inconvenience, we've converted the football stadium to temporary parking with 500 spaces, reallocated parking spaces for students on Mesa College Circle west of the campus entrance and in Lot 4, provided a free shuttle and parking at Kearny High School, and increased security, traffic direction and parking assistance.
Here are suggestions to help you get to class on time with minimum inconvenience.
- Allow yourself more time to get to class
- Carpool with friends or take public transit (go to www.511sd.com)
- Take the free shuttle services from Kearny High (schedule)
- Catch a ride: drop-offs are in Lot 1 and Lot H
- Check this page for parking advisories
- Drive carefully, slow down and give pedestrians the right of way
We appreciate your patience as we build you a better campus.
Wednesday, August 28, 2008 - 7 am to 1 pm
Parking/Traffic Impact: In addition to normal beginning of semester traffic congestion, the arrival of twenty (20) cement trucks between the hours of 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. may further impact your commute onto campus. Arrive early and, if possible, avoid the Mesa College Drive entrance to campus.
Mesa College Fall 2008 Traffic Plan
The objective of the Mesa Traffic Plan is to facilitate movement of vehicles on and off campus to compensate for increased congestion and loss of traffic lanes due to construction. Proposed operating period is August 25 - September 11, 2008. See the full plan here.
Temporary Parking Solutions (Fall, 2008)
In December, 2007, the football field was converted to temporary parking, which will alleviate the problem for fall semester, with parking for 525 autos.

Fri. Nov. 9, 2007 - Nov. 2008 (estimate)
As part of the Proposition S and N construction process, Mesa College Drive at Armstrong Street will be closed effective November 9th in order to proceed with the construction of our new parking garage/police substation. The closure is estimated to last one year.
All traffic using Mesa College Drive to enter the college will be directed to turn right at Armstrong Street and then turn left onto the new Armstrong Street connector.
A four -way stop sign will be placed at Armstrong Street and the Armstrong Connector. College Police and District Parking Services will be directing traffic during peak traffic periods.
Thank you for your continued support and patience while we build out our Mesa College Facility Master Plan. Please continue to drive with caution.
